For many of us, first thing we do in the morning is hit snooze, and get on social media. Our morning routine starts with quick meals and running out the door to work or whatever else has captured our attention. Constantly rushing from one task to the next without even taking a moment to relax.

Our morning routine sets the tone for our entire day, and we all can agree that we can use more inspiration, positivity, and peace. Liberate yourself from a draining life style, and begin a positive, relaxing morning routine. It is the best act of self-love, and the best way to change your life today!

Wake up Earlier

By getting out of bed thirty minutes to an hour earlier than you usually do, you will allow yourself to have more time for relaxation, creating a meaningful morning. While everyone else is still asleep you can enjoy your usual tea or coffee, and being your morning rituals. Here are the key ways to start your day.

Morning Meditation

While you are brewing your coffee or tea create a comfortable space where you can relax and open your day mindfully. Meditating first thing in the morning is the perfect way to tune in, go inside, and spark the inspiration that your day deserves. Just 10 minutes is all it takes. Surround yourself with your favorite candles, or use some essential oils to stimulate your mind and add some extra self-love!

Write more!

Now that you are centered, and your warm cup is cozy in your hand, it is time to grad your journal and begin writing. Journaling help us map out of mind. Gets us to the root of where we are and where we are growing. You can use this time to journal your dreams, your emotions, your plans, anything! The key is to just write. Maybe even set intentions for your day, and how you want to carry this vibe with you!


For me, a big key part of my morning routine is incorporating some form of movement! It can be yoga, a workout routine, dancing, going for a run, or just a simple walk. Adding that element will increase endorphins that’ll get you feeling great right off the bat. Movement is known to decrease anxiety and increase confidence. Plus, if you can workout first thing in the morning, I am pretty sure you can take any curve balls that the day might bring you! It is best to practice before you eat if you can. Movement in the morning is a lot like breakfast in that it gets your metabolism going before there is anything to digest. Whatever it is that you want to do, I promise some form of movement in the morning will change your life.

 Intentional Eating

Our food is our fuel. It has always been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Breakfast kick-starts our metabolism and gives us the energy we will need to focus while we are at work or school. Create yourself a meal that nourishes your mind, body, and soul. Fruit is perfect for this. It is a soft way to awaken your gut, and get it ready for bigger meals. Smoothies, oatmeal, and even some avocado toast are perfect to jumpstart your day into wellness.

Just as it is easy as it is to have our day become rushed and ruled by everything and everyone, it can be even more simple to turn that around by adding these mindful routines into your morning. It is vital when achieving wellness and peace. Every morning, I invite you to ask yourself, what do I want my mornings to look like? What small steps can I take to take my mornings back in my hands?
