Sound Healing, the name alone brings resonance into your heart.

At this point in history we understand that sound is frequency, frequency is energy, and energy is everything.

Music has always been an integral part of my life, and daily I witness sound shape shift our world. The essence of our culture is the hum of its sounds. We play music for pleasure, expression, and entertainment. But our ancestors, those who birthed music did it for the healing, balance, and connection it brought to all people. The essence of all ceremonies is the music behind it, and we must remember it is music that can bring all people together, despite our differences.

For me, music was the first true source of healing I found. Years of listening to countless genres, beats, and lyrics lead me to the realization that sound has the potential to be the leading factor that builds our identity. This realization is what lead me to explore the potential of healing my life from inside and out using sound as my sacred tool!

How Does Sound Healing Work?

The process of using sound as a healing tool dates back to our most ancient cultures. History has kept this knowledge clear and it is our job to remember.

Egyptians used sound healing in almost all of their temples and was a leading tool they used to keep their people well. In Christianity music was used to banish evil spirits and bring people together. Native Americans sang healing songs and drummed to cure the sick, and almost every culture, from every corner of the world, has used music to carry their history.

In the present day, we have found that sound has a tremendous impact on our psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness.

If you listen to low-frequency music, your physical vibration will begin to resonate at that low-frequency. The same reaction goes with high-frequency music. Everything in the universe is a perception of waves, and in this physical reality sound is a big wave. We as humans are wired to perceive sound as a tool for survival. This need has awakened modern sound healers who use ancient technology to balance the vibration of life.

What is Sound Healing?

A Sound Healing practitioner is one who uses sound for therapy to improve the health and peace of someone’s life. Sound healing empowers your vibration on many levels. Sound therapy influences a variety of aspects of your life, including emotional and social development, cognitive and motor functioning, and psychological and mental health.

Some ways you can heal with sound are through bells, tuning forks, crystal bowls, and Tibetian singing bowls, chimes, binaural beats, chanting mantra, sacred drumming, and many more tools. All of these tools are crafted to change your brain frequency and rewire it to a more positive vibration.

When sound reaches our ears, the waves are converted into electrical signals that travel up the auditory nerve into the auditory cortex. Once sound waves reach our brains, they trigger responses in our bodies. The response is based on the frequency of sound vibration.

This process alters our emotions, hormones, and can trigger certain impulses. This is why we often listen to a certain sound in order to get pumped for a big event, or even to calm us down in times of despair.

In neurological studies, it has been proven that listening to music increases productivity and our own creative energy.

This is because listening to music floods our brains with dopamine. It also releases oxytocin, the natural painkiller our body produces, and it allows us to bond with others. In fact, oxytocin is most commonly found in mothers during labor. Increasing this chemical in our brain forever changes our lives and gives us the nurturance we need.

Benefits of Sound Healing

Aside from realization and the ability to focus more on meditation, sound healing has a tremendous amount of benefits. Its been proven in numerous studies that those who listen to binaural beats experience a synchronization in their brain, bringing clarity, focus, and physical wellbeing. Sound, both used for entertainment and healing influences our health, mental clarity, and energy levels.

Types of Sound Healing

Mantra

Mantra is the action of using our voice to guide us through meditation. In ancient Hindu and yoga practices, there are specific mantras to chant in order to receive a specific source for healing.

Your own body is an amazing sound healing tool that can be accessed at any moment! Mantra has many health, neurological, and psychological benefits. Chanting improves sleep, lowers blood pressure, improves our mood, breathing, and circulation, calms the mind, and reduces stress.

For someone who has a hard time focusing on meditation, Mantra is a great guide and healer.

Singing Bowl Therapy

This powerful tool dates back centuries and is one of the most well-known tools for sound healing today. In Asia, Sound bowls are used in ceremony, rituals, and meditation. The vibration that comes from the tools is phenomenal and almost otherworldly.

For sound healing therapy, singing bowls are believed to calm and repair the mind, as well as reduce stress and anxiety, improve breathing and circulation, alleviate pain, strengthen the immune system, and improve the mood of the all who are near.

Sacred Drumming

Drums are an ancient tool for deep, deep healing. Studies have shown that drumming can bring people out of comas, as it mimics the heartbeat. The divine connection between the beat of a drum and our hearts invites primal healing into our mind, body, and spirit.

Tuning Fork Therapy

Tuning forks are tuned to a specific vibration, just like you would tune an instrument, and the way it is applied is similar to acupuncture.

When the tuning fork rings it brings the dynamic of our body into a unified vibration, unclogs our meridians, and sync’s our energy centers into oneness. The sound the forks make connect to a specific point of the body or specific energy that is needed. You can see the forks ringing with vibration and the feeling is extremely potent. This healing brings balance and pain relief instantly.

Vibroacoustic Therapy

Is when sound is applied directly to the body by laying on a mat or bed. The speakers are placed specifically based so that the vibrations can penetrate the patient perfectly to create cellular healing. This method is wonderful for people who are looking for relief from pain, cancer, and even strokes.

Root Frequency Entrainment

This interesting practice revolves around the belief that our souls hold a specific frequency that we need in order to function at our fullest capacity! The chaos and harsh sounds of this world are said to create disharmony within our soul’s vibration. This interference is what creates disharmony, illness, and even the global issues our world faces. In order to restore ourselves, Root Frequency is applied to get us back to our original vibration.

Sound healing is a tool that is available in every moment, and will drastically change your life. The healing is immediate and can only bring good into your life! You can simply play binaural beats in your car while you drive and it will assist your mind, body, and spirit to stay in a good vibration, as well as offer protection, and fluidity in your thinking!
